$appName is designed to collect as little as possible.

1. What we collect

• Scan data: the ingredient text or label image you submit, and the resulting

analysis. Images are processed to extract text and are not stored long-term.

• An anonymous device identifier (a random ID generated on your device). It is

NOT linked to your name, email, phone number, or account.

• Basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.

We do NOT collect your name, email, contacts, location, or precise identity.

2. Why we collect it

• To analyse the products you scan and return a score.
• To cache results so repeat scans are faster and more consistent.
• To operate, debug, and protect the service.

3. AI processing

Label text/images may be sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) solely to

extract and classify ingredients. We do not send personal identity data.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with infrastructure/AI providers

strictly to operate the service, and where required by law.

5. Your rights (DPDP Act 2023 / GDPR)

You can, at any time:

• Access — request a copy of data linked to your device ID.
• Delete — erase all data linked to your device ID, from inside the app

(Settings → Delete my data) or by emailing $contactEmail.

• Withdraw consent — stop using the app and delete your data.

6. Retention

Anonymous scan data is retained only as long as needed to provide and improve

the service, then deleted or aggregated beyond identification.

7. Children

$appName is not directed at children under 13 (or the age set by local law).
